This week's ginchy gal is a little risque, but a princess nonetheless!
Farida Mazar Spyropoulos a.k.a. "Little Egypt" was a belly dancer in the late nineteenth century. Originally form Syria, she stole the show at World's Columbian Exposition Midway in Chicago in 1893 with her dance that started the phrase "hootchy-kootchy," in reference to the way her hips moved. Until her breakthrough on the American stage, the term "belly dancing" hadn't yet entered our vocabulary, but Little Egypt was sure to set that straight.
After her retirement, there were many other belly dancers to carry on the name "Little Egypt," all as wonderfully curvaceous as the next!
Be like Little Egypt:
- Steal the show.
- Realize that they way to a man's heart is through your stomach.
- Create a fabulous stage name.
- Make a little scandal.
- Leave a legacy.
