Hey there princess!
Audrey Hepburn is a triple threat: killer style, terrific acting skills, and a compassionate heart.
She grew up in Holland during World War II, suffered through malnutrition and poverty, and came through it all with a smile on her face. She even used her talents as a ballet dancer to raise funds for the Dutch resistance, and tended to wounded soldiers in her father's hospital.
Her first film, Roman Holiday, was a huge success, and she went on from there to star in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina, and Funny Face. Her poise, class, and unique style sensibilities created a whole new standard in both film and fashion. To top it all off, the little black dress was born and women everywhere rejoiced at the prospect of having something new to don at dinner parties!
After retiring from the film industry, Audrey devoted her life to the service of others by working closely with UNICEF. She used her fame to garner publicity for the organization and helped give food, medicine, and love to children throughout the world. In 1992 she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George H.W. Bush. To me, she will always be a princess.
Be like Audrey:
- Be brave by standing up for what you believe in.
- Learn a new language.
- Start a new style trend.
- Do something of service for someone else.
- Promote compassion.
