Tonight was quite a memorable one here at the castle, as it is the night to end all nights: prom!
My baby sister (the little princess) was whisked away by her prince charming (and about a thousand of her closest friends) to dance the night away and sip pink lemonade from plastic champagne flutes. As we spent much of the afternoon perfecting her hair, nails, and becoming masters in the art of adhering false eyelashes, I couldn't help but reminisce on my own prom, five short years ago, and may I just say... what a night!
Prom, as you all must know, is the end-all be-all of any high school career. Your dress, hair, and the studliness of your date all determine whether it will be a night to scrapbook about, or a night that you will later try to forget by attempting to untag Facebook pictures.
I know that with events like this, there is always a certain amount of drama that follows, but trust me when I tell you to cherish it. At the end of the night, and in years to come, nobody is going to stress about who went with who, or which after-party had the best Backstreet Boys mix CD. The only thing that matters is that you are young, having fun, looking fabulous, and maybe even falling a little bit in love.
As you are all princesses, I encourage you to pursue prom season with grace, elegance, and a fierceness that won't soon be forgotten!
