Yesterday, I saw "Into the Woods" with the queen and thought it was too much fun! The acting was brilliant and the singing was out of this world. The story reminded me of one of my favorite tales of all time: Cinderella.
I was introduced to the story of Cinderella through the Disney film when I was very young, and always loved dancing around the living room pretending to be at the Prince's ball. I also loved watching the Rodgers and Hammerstein's TV movie starring Lesley Ann Warren, which the queen had recorded on VHS for us to watch.
Walt Disney said of the servant turned princess, "She believed in dreams, all right, but she also believed in doing something about them. When Prince Charming didn't come along, she went over to the palace and got him."
Be more like Cinderella:
- Be friendly to animals
- Throw a shoe
- Believe in magic
- Be kind in all things
- Make your own happily ever after
Sparkle on!
P.S. Who else is excited to see the new live-action Cinderella movie coming out this year?!
