Hey there princess!
Okay, so one of my favorite actors is Buster Keaton. This
guy learned his tricks in vaudeville, where he was part of his father’s act.
Now, his dad was kind of a crazy alcoholic and would routinely throw ole Buster
into the audience. Before long, Keaton left the stage for the silver screen and
eventually earned the nickname “the Great Stone Face” for his impassive
response to even the most outlandish situations.
Lucille Ball developed much of the comic technique that she
would use in I Love Lucy from studying
with him. In honor of hopeless romantics everywhere, I submit for your
approval, this clip from the silent film Spite
Marriage, 1929.
Celebrate the awkward in all of us!
