The ginchy gal of the week is Marie Antoinette, who was
Queen of France and had fashion sense that combined the talents of Edith Head
and Lady Gaga. Ooh la la!
When this fourteen-year-old Austrian archduchess first
arrived at the Palace of Versailles to become dauphine, she probably had no
idea that she would become, to many, the Queen of Fashion.
Her life was turbulent at best, and she had to deal with the
scandal of having an unconsummated marriage, war breaking out around her, the
death of her mother, and that whole “let them eat cake” thing, all before she
turned twenty five. However, when life gave her lemons, she arranged them in a
fabulous bonnet atop her well-stacked head. We applaud you Marie!
