Polka dots, first spotted on the style scene in 1854 in connection with the dance of the same name, have dominated all that is playful from fabulous frocks to high-fashion heels.
My good friend Elle Woods (who aced history of polka dots, by the way) told me over mimosas and manicures that this bold pattern began as costuming material for flamenco dancers, but as the rest of the world became more daring, the playful dots became a staple in the fashion world.
So, princesses, whip out your itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot pumps and seize the day!
