Hey there princess!

Some people claim that Mondays are the worst days of the week, but I beg to differ. Mondays are full of possibilities, and give you the opportunity to set the pace for the rest of your week.

What better way to start off you week than by eating something delicious and relaxing by the big screen? Don’t have time for these shenanigans today? No problem! Bookmark or print out this page and save it for the weekend!

Snickerdoodles and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

We all thought about skipping school when we were kids, so stay home today and eat a cookie!

A little about Ferris Bueller

Who can resist the allure of Matthew Broderick and Ferraris?! This movie tells the story of a high school wise-guy who is determined to have a day off from school, despite what the principle (and his psycho sister played by Jennifer Grey) think. Plus, Sloane Peterson’s (aka Mia Sara) jacket is tres tres fancy!

The Queen’s Snickerdoodle Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup shortening
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
2 ¾ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon

Cream shortening with sugar, then add eggs and beat well. Meanwhile, sift together the dry ingredients, except sugar and cinnamon. Stir them into the creamed mixture. Chill the dough for an hour (not necessary if you have a manicure to get to). After chilling, roll the dough into small balls. Roll these balls into sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place about two inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.  mix by hand for most queen-like results
