Kiss and Make Up

Thursday, January 15, 2015

Hey there princess!

One of my favorite things to do on gloomy days (re. the past three weeks) is to watch movies and music videos that are bright and cheerful. For a few seconds, it's like the whole world is full of sunshine and rainbows, and what could possibly be bad about that?! Recently, I've fallen in love with Meghan Trainor's music video "Lips are Movin."

The whole video is full of bright outfits, confetti, and general merriment.

When this song first came out in October, I found it fun, but now that the weather here has taken a turn for the gloomy I am totally relying on it to brighten my day (plus the dancing around that inevitably happens with any Meghan Trainor hit is keeping me warm). Check out her video to see what I mean!

Also, I've done a little hunting around to find the over-the-top cute clothing and accessories from the video (and some lip-themed items that I personally love) and they would all be perfect for Valentine's day! Check it out:

Yazbukey Lips Earrings $270 from OhLike

Red Persplex Clutch $390 from Lulu Guinness

American Retro Helena Jeans $210

Kiss the Sky Shag Sweater $88 from NastyGal

Chanel Rouge Allure Satin Lip $35 in Pirate

Pucker up and sparkle on!

I never met an animal print I didn't like.

Monday, November 5, 2012

Hey there princess!

Instead of snagging some stereotypical zebra stripes this fall, I'm planning on sporting a whole new kind of animal print! Some of my favorite shops have pulled out all the stops this season, and instead of seeing spots, they have introduced the full-animal print. I'm loving it, and so is my magic mirror!

Here are a few of my favorites for you to add to the royal closet!

Nasty Gal, Jungle Cat Crop Top

Anthropologie, Here and There Tee

Wildfox, Black Stallion Barefoot Sweater

Modcloth, Hound Sleuth Dress

The Need for Tweed

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Hey there princess!

Tweed, which has become a fall favorite this season, actually got its start about two hundred years ago in Scotland. Often times, nobleman of the nineteenth century would use different patterns of tweed in order to distinguish their origin and family estates.

The cloth, which today is a stereotype for intelligence and dorkdom the world round, actually began with princesses just like you and me!

Be proud to sport tweed this season like the sophisticated siren that you are!
